The Face Behind the Flyer #1123

This year we are introducing a new tradition, working with members of The Little Makers Market family, to design custom flyers to shout about the events. This benefits us with beautiful marketing but also, helps us celebrate the incredible talent within our community.

Artist flyers have quickly become one of my favourite parts of running The Little Makers Markets. It’s such an honour every month to be able to work with such talented individuals to create new marketing materials to share digitally & locally! Being able to see their processes unfold, and learning more about them as people, as well as creative, is truly inspiring.

I’ve been so spoilt this year with so many beautiful designs created by our makers for the monthly flyers, but I must say this design by the incredibly talented Leanne Crowe, is one of my favourites. Leanne’s unique style & outlook on an open brief is truly breathtaking. Her inspiration taken from some of the makers she has met over the last few months, has created such an innovative design. I honestly cannot wait to see what she does next, so without further ado…

What was your inspiration behind the design?

My inspiration came from all the makers at the market, I wanted to showcase their work through my drawings.

Approximately how long did it take you?

The design took me 2 to 3 days to complete in between running around after my two year old daughter!

What’s your usual source of inspiration?

Everyday life, parenthood, childhood and wellbeing. Striking colour palettes are

a big inspiration to my work also.

How long have you been making?

I began illustrating as a professional over the last two years but drawing, painting and making in general has always been my hobby.

How did you do it?

I came up with an initial composition, with all the hands reaching in, then made a collection of images of the products from the makers and arranged it all together.  I use the the app Procreate for most of my digital art and use certain colour palettes, that I compose myself, to tie each image together to give it a more uniform look.

Describe your work?

My style of work is;

Colourful, relatable, story telling, fun and emotive.

My products are mainly stationery items, such as greeting cards, gift wrap and notebooks. I also have a couple of published children books.

Also I create editorial work for magazines that are focused on parenting and well-being.

What’s your goal for 2023?

To become a children’s book illustrator. Although I have already produced three children’s books I would love to develop a vast portfolio working with various authors who share the same passion as me.
